Ted Martin started as a DEMO volunteer in 2005 before joining the Board in 2014. He has served as Board Chair since 2015. Ted spearheaded the successful DEMO Center for Music initiative, which provided a space for independent musical education, networking, and performance. As Chair, he has championed a results-focused transformation of both the organization and Board operations. Ted spends his spare time writing and recording music in his home studio.
Willie McManus has been a DEMO board member since 2010. He founded the NorthByMidwest Music Festival in 2009 and has been involved in music in some capacity since childhood. Prior to 2000, Willie spent 16 years living in Ireland, where he worked various jobs, including as a professional musician.
Both Ted and Willie have been instrumental in building the Minnesota Music Archive.
We believe our core mission begins with preserving Minnesota’s released music. That’s the essential foundation. But it’s not the whole story, and we know it.
Music donations: Artists, fans, and collectors can help us fill in the gaps by submitting recordings.
Volunteers: Digitization, data entry, research, content contributions, and community engagement all depend on people power.
